I’m a huge fan of makeup remover wipes. Mostly because some nights I’m just entirely too tired — or too lazy (I can’t be the only one, right?) — to do a full face wash routine before bed. I find that makeup wipes generally remove all of my makeup (and trust me, white sheets don’t lie) and make me feel pretty refreshed and clean.
I’ve never been a fan of the Neutrogena wipes that most of my friends use and love. They leave me feeling oily and I always feel the need to wash my face after using them. Defeats the purpose and causes me to have to do more work. Not a fan of any of that. However, I bring up these wipes because they’ve always removed the makeup the best. So ever since I tried them — light years ago — I’ve been searching for wipes that remove makeup just as well, but don’t leave me feeling oily.
So, I was Christmas shopping with my mom and grandma and found myself inside a Walmart. I can’t even tell you the last time I shopped at Walmart. I’m a Target girl. Needless to say, I took it as an opportunity to explore their brand specific makeup wipes. The Equate Beauty Night-Time Soothing Makeup Remover Towelettes are what I found and decided to try.
I’m a fan of anything labeled “night-time.” Or a sucker? Either way, I usually love the smell and think it’s pretty soothing, which is just what I need before bed. These are no different than other “night-time” wipes. Same scent, same idea. So that’s a win for these wipes. Price ($4 for 40 wipes) and packaging (has the snap closure) are perfect.
I literally have to use three of these wipes at a time — and I still have makeup on my face. I think this is because the wipes are sort of dry. Not that I want a dripping wet wipe, but there needs to be a decent amount of moisture to remove the makeup, right? If you have eye liner or mascara on — forget it. These wipes don’t remove it even after three wipes. I always end up having to use makeup remover on my eyes. Again, more work, ugh.
I was really hoping these would work out, but after I finish the pack, that’ll be the end of equate makeup wipes and moi.
The hunt continues.
Do you have any favorite makeup wipes — or maybe some other trick for lazy chicks like me?
